New process using vibratory tooling installed at TENNECO AUTOMOTIVE / WALKER enables edgeprep of slow speed tube and pipemills running below metal cutting/skiving speeds. Skiving is possible down to zero speed. Weld poisoning aluminum coating on steel and stainless is skived from edges - and surfaces adjoining edges - at any speed. The new process enables previously impossible tube and pipemill operations.

Also shown is new drop-in mini skiver for retrofit to existing production lines. These units doubled rollformer line production at ALLMETAL INC., removing weld spoiling precoat paint from edges and adjacent surfaces of thin aluminum strip.
