A. Mechanical extractors have reciprocating air cycled fingers which descend into the swarf and pull it away from the machine. The units use an air/electric low frequency flip flop with adjustable cycling rate.

B. Vacuum extractors are good for lighter swarf and convey it to a hopper. Large units use cyclone separators.

C. Wiper pads are an inexpensive method of removing light swarf from narrower materials.
